Today, we visited the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, which is located an hour north of Copenhagen by a regional train. We visited this museum last year also when my mom was here, but we went on a rainy and cold day. Yet, we were still totally impressed how beautiful the museum was. But today, we had a gorgeous weather, and the museum, especially the garden outside was just breathtaking, and we realized how much we missed out on our last visit on a rainy day. The color of the ocean was this really beautiful "nordic blue" should I say, and we could clearly see parts of Sweden on the other side. I couldn't agree more that this is "the most beautiful museum in the world" as it is often described. I thought I could just sit there for hours watching the beautiful ocean and the clouds go by... The kids had fun running and rolling down the hill.
Of course the garden outside is not the only thing that make this museum so special. The museum building itself is pretty amazing as well, and they always have great exhibitions. They currently have an architectural exhibition called "New Nordic" and also another exhibition called "Pink Caviar" which is an exhibition of Louisiana's new acquisitions over the past three years, and they were both very interesting. Mio participated in making her own art work in the Children's wing. Inspired by a Danish artist Poul Gernes' artwork (who is one of the artists represented in the Pink Caviar exhibition), the kids get to cut out their own stripe color designs, and and either take it home or put it on the wall at the museum.

It was getting late when we got back to Copenhagen, so we had a nice dinner at a restaurant on our way home, and even stopped for ice cream for dessert. What a perfect day to wrap up my mom's short visit to Copenhagen.
